Susan's life changed in 2011 when she and her husband welcomed a beautiful baby girl with Down Syndrome they named Leah. A new world was introduced to these brand new parents: therapies, doctors, education and a whole new group of friends. “We expected Italy and landed in Holland. It took us a bit, but we realized that Holland is truly as beautiful and amazing as Italy!”
“It was a lot of hard work, and still is, but Leah is fully included in a typically developing school doing grade level work. She thoroughly enjoys her friends, has play dates and has many interests. Leah is fully included in our community and the many classes she takes on a weekly basis!”
“I want to impart what I have learned, my passions and my commitment to empowering our next generation of people, of all abilities, into an inclusive world.”
For the past 3 years Susan has been a self direction broker. From 2007-2017 she was the Director of Operations at a not-for-profit located in Brooklyn. She lives in NYC with her family.
